Magnet Ribbon Flowers

Here are the samples I did for my ribbon flower card. I turned them into magnets and now they live on my frig. My frig never looked more beautiful! All the ribbon is cheap ribbon I got at Jo Anns. You think you're getting a real deal when you buy them...then you realize there is only 3 feet on the roll. SU ribbon is sooooooo worth the price!!!

Ribbon Flower

I saw the idea to use ribbon to make a flower on the Martha Stewart site. So I pulled out my ribbon and made this. To practice I used some cheap ribbon I had around that was collecting dust, and I turned those into frig magnets. I'll post a pic of those later. Im soo proud of this card. Its not often that I make a card without caseing someone elses. Im really trying to get out of my stamping comfort zone and design my own cards.
Recipe:

Graduation Swap

I am doing a swap with my mom's card club when I go to MI in a couple of weeks. The theme is graduation and I wanted to do something that would work for all schools and all grades. I cased this from iStamp, I dont think I got the chalkboard technique done perfect but since I got to do 12 cards..I think I'll get it down good. Maybe its because I dont have a daber. I used baby Q-Tips, they work alot better than the tips that came with the pastels! I just love this set and paper(found in occasions mini). Im going to have to buy a bunch more to have on hand before it ends in May.
Recipe:
Stamps- Tart and Tangy, All Year Cheer
Paper- Black, Summer Picnic Design Paper
Inks- Stazon, White Craft
Accessories- Real Red Ribbon, Pastels

Orange Birthday

I was checking out my favorite blogs this morning and saw the cutest card on Dawn's Stamping Thoughts. I just love her site, her cards have really made me break out of my stamping comfort zone. Here is what I made up caseing her Pocket card. I dont have any bashful blue paper(yet) so I had to switch my colors around. So I pulled out the stripped design paper outta my scrap paper box and went from there.
Recipe:
Stamps- Tart and Tangy, Full of Life both from mini
Paper- Pumpkin Pie, Cho Chip, Wild Wasabi, Crew Kids(boy) Simply Scrappin kit paper
Inks- Pumpkin Pie, Cho Chip, Versamark
Accessories- Cho Chip Ribbon, Scallop Punch, 1 1/4 circle Punch, White Gel Pen

Here's two cards I made last night, both cased from SCS. I am going to demo then at my workshop and Im wanted to push Marker Clubs so I did different techniques with them. I also want to push the Free Wheelin' Deal too so I used the Sweet Stars wheel and colored the starts with pastels and blender pen. I tried doing scratch and sniff with the latte card but no matter how much I scratch, I dont smell a thing!!! Maybe I didnt add enough coffee to the mix or its too small of an area.

Paper bag Photo Album

I am doing a paper bag photo album class on April 12th @2pm. I have had this idea for a while and when the Free Wheelin Deal started and I saw Enjoy Every Moment set, I knew it would be perfect for it! I just love this idea and its soo easy to do. I really loved making them for my DH while he was deployed. Its small and if it got destroyed(which it did!) it was no big deal. They are also nice for kids. My mom made one up for my son Donovan to have when we moved. He loved it!!! And is also helped him learn the names of all his uncles. I guess you can say Im a penny pincher and dont like to use my good paper on my boys since it'll just end up destroyed. So this is a cheap but cute way to make alittle photo album for them. For Mother's Day, Im going to make one with pics of the kids for my, mil and grandmas!

Recipe:

Stamps: Enjoy Every Moment, Time Well Spent, Full of Life, Daisy Dash Wheel
Inks: Cho Chip, Versamark, Purely Pomegrante, Blue Bayou, White gel pen
Paper: Lunch bags, Wild Wasabi, Purely Pomegrante, Soft Sky, Prints Design Paper
Accessories: 1/2 inch & 3/4 inch circle punch, cropadile, cho chip ribbon

I just lined up 4 paper bags, cut off the ends, folded them in half , layered them one bag going one way and the next going the opposite, punched holes, threaded ribbon then decorate!!! Soooo easy!!! There are soooo many ways to do this and decorate. I would have to say this isnt my best work but I just got the set yesterday so Im sure I'll whip up something better. I also just printed the pics onto white card stock. Yet another thing that makes it so cheap and once again if it gets destroyed..oh well!!

Ok I got hit with Karma!!!

Yesterday I posted how wonderful it was to not have snow...well look what it did yesterday afternoon!!!!! SNOW!!!!!
Talk about getting kicked in the butt by karma!!! LOL!!!

Spring is here!!!!

I just have to share the flowers I planted in the fall. Its such a beautiful thing to watch something you planted bloom. Here is another reason I love it soo much out here in WA. My flowers are blooming and back home in MI then just got 11 inches of snow over the weekend. Sorry guys :(

Catch Up

Here are some cards I have made in the last couple of weeks. Anything else that I have made is to the right, all organized by catagory.

Most are cased from SCS. Im not going to put the recipe for all them, it would take me forever. So if you want to know how to make a certain card. Make a comment and I'll let you know.

Getting started as a SU demonstrator.

I signed up to be SU demonstrator in Feb 08. I have been dying to become one forever but decided to wait till after my husband got stationed somewhere. So after living out here in Fort Lewis, WA for about 4 months, I was having some serious SU workshop withdraws. So I did a search for a local demonstrator and up popped Nicole Gunter and luckily for me she is also an Army wife and lives right here on post. She had a Stamp-a-Stack scheduled for Super Bowl Sunday so I immediatly signed up. I new about the deal for signing up during SAB so I was pretty much already sold on signing up but I didnt just want to sign up under just anyone, I wanted someone who could help me get out there and meet people. Someone who has experience and talent. Well....lets just say I hit the jack pot and signed up with her not even a week later. So Im super excited about getting started, I have a million ideas and cant wait to get out there. One little tinny problem...I knew like maybe 4 people in the area and thats was only because of the married to the army forum Im a member of. So you can guess I had quite a time trying to get started. I held my 1st workshop on Feb 23rd. Not one soul showed up :( . Next I had another workshop on March 8th, one girl canceled due to back problems and only one girl showed up. Though we still had alot of fun and ended up cooking burgers on the grill :) . So then I had an Open House on March 14th. I had two gals show up and one made my 1st order and booked my 1st workshop. Soooooo excited!!!!!!!!!!! So here are the cards I demoed at the two events.

Recipe: Stamps: Year after Year(heart), Define your life (lucky)

Recipe: (image on top)Match Box Easter Basket Card

Happy Easter!!

I know Easter was two days ago but since Im just today starting my new blog, Im posting the couple of cards I made for Easter. When I sat down to make some Easter cards I ran into one big problem. I HAVE NO EASTER STAMPS! The only thing I had was one small easter egg stamp that is retired so that was a no go. So I started searching on SCS for some ideas. I am big on practical stamps and tools. If it doesnt have more than one use, I wont buy it. That goes for kitchen tools too. So when I came across this idea, BAMM! Stamp attack!
